There is a single-player mode where mode and level are hand-picked: from the easiest to the hardcore. Your tamed character can die in this mode, but you can save his progress or start a new one without anything inherited.

There is also a multiplayer mode bringing much more excitement to the gameplay. You can select here cooperative or competitive mode and then build up a human society or act dog-eat-dog gameplay.
